Assistant Chief Dave Allison
Assistant Chief Dave Allison joined the Deerfield fire department in October 1978.
He served as Lieutenant in 1984 and 85, Captain in 1986, 87, 88, and Assistant Chief since 1989. On the business side of the department he served as department secretary for 5 years starting in 1985, Vice President 8 years starting in 1988, Association President in 1994, Treasurer 7 years staring in 1995 and again Treasurer from 2004 to present day.
Dave is a volunteer level firefighter and an EMT-I.
Dave comes from a family very active in the local fire department. Dave’s father-in-law Ed Balogh was an early member of the department serving from February 1951 until May 1978. Dave’s mother-in-law Minnie Balogh was a Auxiliary “Sirenetts” member who assisted with food and beverage at the scene of major emergencies and participated in fund raising activities for benefit of the department ande was also a long time fire phone dispatcher. Dave’s wife Diane is currently a member of the “Sirenetts” and served as President of that organization for several years along with being a fire phone dispatcher. Dave’s son Brian and daughter Melissa are also current members of the fire department.
In addition to being a top responder Dave represents the department at many county firefighter and Chiefs meetings.
